Dans cette configuration, la Lune occulte totalement ou partiellement le disque solaire pour les observateurs situ\u00e9s dans certaines r\u00e9gions de la Terre.<\/p><p data-start=\"432\" data-end=\"655\">Bien que le <strong data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"466\">diam\u00e8tre du Soleil<\/strong> soit environ <strong data-start=\"480\" data-end=\"502\">400 fois sup\u00e9rieur<\/strong> \u00e0 celui de la Lune, le Soleil est \u00e9galement situ\u00e9 \u00e0 une distance moyenne d&rsquo;environ <strong data-start=\"586\" data-end=\"610\">400 fois plus grande<\/strong> que celle de la Lune par rapport \u00e0 la Terre.<\/p><p data-start=\"660\" data-end=\"910\">Cette remarquable co\u00efncidence g\u00e9om\u00e9trique fait que le Soleil et la Lune pr\u00e9sentent presque le <strong data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"780\">m\u00eame diam\u00e8tre apparent<\/strong> dans le ciel. C&rsquo;est cette particularit\u00e9 qui permet \u00e0 la Lune de masquer totalement ou partiellement le Soleil lors d&rsquo;une \u00e9clipse..<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"7\">On distingue trois principaux types d&rsquo;\u00e9clipses :<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"8\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">L&rsquo;\u00e9clipse totale :<\/b> La Lune recouvre enti\u00e8rement le Soleil. Le ciel s&rsquo;assombrit en plein jour, la temp\u00e9rature chute et la couronne solaire (l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re externe du Soleil) devient visible.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">L&rsquo;\u00e9clipse partielle :<\/b> L&rsquo;alignement n&rsquo;est pas parfait. La Lune ne fait que \u00ab\u00a0grignoter\u00a0\u00bb une partie du Soleil, qui prend alors la forme d&rsquo;un croissant lumineux.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"8,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"8,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">L&rsquo;\u00e9clipse annulaire :<\/b> La Lune est trop \u00e9loign\u00e9e de la Terre pour masquer compl\u00e8tement le Soleil. Cela offrira une opportunit\u00e9 unique aux photographes et aux observateurs de voir un croissant de soleil rougeoyant plonger sous l&rsquo;horizon ouest.
