Welcome to the 45th International School for Young Astronomers (ISYA), set to take place in Algeria from September 15th to October 5th, 2024. The School is organized by  the Research Center in Astronomy and Astrophysics (CRAAG)  and General Directorate of Scientific Research and Technological Developement (DGRSDT),  jointly with the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters (NASL).  It aims to promote and cultivate the advancement of professional astronomy in communities worldwide.

We invite applications from early graduate students (MSc/PhD) in Physics, Astronomy, or Astrophysics from African, Middle Eastern, and East European countries. Final-year BSc students and researchers with PhDs in other fields, intending to enroll in a graduate program in Astronomy and Astrophysics, will also be considered.

A total of thirty students will be selected to participate in this three-week school. Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum, including lectures, practical sessions, and projects, guided by an international team of experts. The program covers a broad spectrum of up-to-date astrophysics, encompassing both theoretical and observational aspects. Participants are expected to commit 100% of their time to actively participating in all planned activities during the three-week term. The school program is intensive and selected students should avoid scheduling commitments in their home universities during those dates.

The program covers expenses for flights to and from Algeria (including domestic flights), accommodation, and subsistence at the ISYA.

Although ISYA is not a research conference per se, we actively encourage students to submit posters providing a concise overview of their research topics.
